Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port 2013

- A vivid magenta rim envelops a dull purple-black core. The Guimaraens 2013 displays the opulent fruit character that defines the Fonseca house style. The nose opens with a powerful and intense wave of wild berry aroma, rich and juicy, but without any hint of over-ripening. As the wine opens up in the glass, notes of apricot emerge, followed by warmer notes of cedar, wood smoke, and dark chocolate. A variety of subtle floral and herbal aromas contribute an additional dimension of complexity. The palate is almost entirely dominated by rich red fruit flavors, and the dense, compact tannins provide impressive volume and weight. Deceptively velvety on the mid-palate, the tannins emerge with firmness and confidence on the finish.
