Tasting note
- Captivating coppery tones, with subtle gradations of pale orange and green in the halo, denoting its venerable age. It possesses fascinating aromas of honeysuckle, bitter orange, almonds, and caramel, with incredible vitality and grace for a wine of this age. The palate is pure seduction, concentrated yet silky, with beautiful, soft citrus fruits that blend with delicate flavors of buttery caramel and honey. Also present – both aromatically and on the palate – are attractive notes of caramel and marzipan. The incredible balance between concentration and freshness, after seven decades of aging in cask, is one of the great attributes of this wine.
