Henriques Boal, 10 years old, Madeira

With some age, Boal offers a perfume that I refer to as terroir; the dusty summer road. It's also present here and along with fudge, sugar cane, herbs and dates it's an elegant version of a Boal. Elegance is also the hallmark on the palate and the style is exactly what I expect to emerge from Borges. I like it very much and its dusty vanilla and gum taste goes well with the honey and figs that come after a while. Fine acidity in a mineral-driven finish.
