Krohn Vintage Port 2017

- Deep purple-black center with a bright purple rim. The quality of the fruit is immediately noticeable on the nose. It displays the characteristic ripeness and dark fruit aromas of Krohn's Retiro Novo vineyard in the Rio Torto valley, but also features crisp red berries, fresh plum and apricot to give it energy and vigor. The nose is very aromatic, pungent notes of rockrose mingling with savory marjoram and thyme and floral aromas of rose and violet. In the background, there is an evocative forest fragrance of pine needles and ferns. The palate is slender and vigorous, with linear, well-rolled tannins and fresh wild berry flavors that extend to the long finish. A beautifully expressive, fine and fragrant Vintage Port, but with the depth and intensity characteristic of the 2017 vintage.
